This wide angle shot captures the Washington Monument and reflecting pool during the day. The monument, a tall obelisk, stands in the distance under a blue sky dotted with fluffy white clouds. The reflecting pool runs lengthwise in the foreground, its water reflecting the monument. Flanking either side of the pool are strips of well-manicured green lawn, interspersed with the lush green canopies of trees. A few people are visible walking and enjoying the sunny weather. The scene is peaceful, still, and could be used for projects related to travel, monuments, landmarks, recreation, or American history.

This eye-level shot reveals a majestic mountain range, showcasing rugged textures under a bright blue sky. Hues of green and brown color the slopes, while the mountain's steep sides create dramatic shadows. The scene is peaceful, highlighting the natural beauty of the area. An aerial view captures the scenic skyline of Sydney, Australia during daytime. The iconic Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge are clearly visible, sitting between the bustling city and residential areas with orange tiled roofs. Several ships traverse the blue waters of the bay, and many trees populate the landscape. This photograph provides a compelling visual for travel publications, tourism promotions, architectural studies, or urban planning projects. It conveys themes of exploration, development, and the harmonious blend of nature and city life.

Some of our work

The challenge

For over 15 years, Clarity Global has supported the World Bank Group with strategic communications. In a rapidly evolving geopolitical environment, the Bank needs to speak effectively to diverse stakeholder audiences while maintaining the technical quality of its outputs.

Case study: Global replenishment

We provided strategic communications and outputs for the 21st replenishment of the International Development Association, a year-long campaign involving dozens of donor and beneficiary nations. Our work included strategic messaging and producing a wide range of tailored outputs, from op-eds in Tier 1 publications to speeches, briefing notes, and infographics in close collaboration with executive leadership, key managers, and technical leads.

  • Built awareness and support among donors and other development stakeholders.
  • Strengthened message consistency across a complex, multi-country fundraising campaign.
  • Supported senior leadership communications during a critical replenishment cycle.
  • Delivered tailored communications products for diverse global audiences.
  • Contributed to the successful IDA21 replenishment, which mobilized $100 billion in financing for development priorities.

The challenge

Since 2004, Clarity Global has provided communications support to South Africa’s National Treasury. Around the world, national budgets are long, detailed, and highly technical, with little accessible language. This approach reduces transparency and curtails effectiveness.

Clarity Global has provided strategic communications support to the National Treasury leadership for over two decades as the editors of the country’s national budget documentation –  along with a wide range of other publications. We have trained hundreds of officials in clear writing skills.

Our work includes strategic advisory services and developing a budget communications plan for senior officials to build credibility, improve fiscal understanding, and strengthen impact.

  • Helped South Africa consistently secure a Top 4 ranking or better in the Open Budget Survey’s global transparency index  every year since 2006, with first-place rankings achieved in 2010, 2017, and 2019.
  • Enabled the Treasury to translate complex policy into clear, accessible public information, improving the usability of and public engagement with the flagship budget publications.
  • Strengthened communication skills and standards across the Treasury.
  • Supported direct media engagement with budget and fiscal issues.

The challenge

Absa, the fourth largest African bank by assets, needed to establish a new identity and brand across the continent while maintaining employee confidence and engagement during its separation from Barclays. Clarity Global helped to inform and engage Absa’s 28,000 employees during bank-wide change initiatives and digital transformation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Clarity again provided strategic communications support.

Given large-scale shifts in the bank’s ownership, leadership, and strategy, Absa employees needed clear communication for internal accountability and transparency. We worked with executives and senior leaders to embed a new strategy and culture, create thought leadership outputs such as speeches and op-eds, design content to combat change fatigue and manage transitions, and deliver training to improve the impact of executive communications. In collaboration with the Absa team, we were able to identify and address communications challenges across the business.

  • Produced effective communications during Absa’s separation from Barclays UK.
  • Helped launch a new brand across 10 African countries.
  • Kept 28,000 employees informed during a major organizational change.
  • Developed enterprise-wide language and communication standards.
  • Strengthened executive communication capabilities through training.
  • Supported workforce transition during COVID-19.
