Some of our work
Clarity Global has been assisting the World Bank Group with clear communication for almost a decade. We’ve supported a wide range of programs with strategic advice, writing, editing, and design services.
This includes work for the Water Global Practice to highlight global water issues and promote its work in the sector. These communications need to be clear, engaging, and concise, while remaining technically accurate and factual.
We start by engaging deeply with flagship reports and running a strategic communications workshop with senior staff. The workshop helps to clarify our understanding of the content, align the technical experts on the importance of communicating for impact, and develop key messages.
Those messages are the base for us to create varied content for different stakeholders and channels. We develop and write a range of communications products, including speeches for leaders at key water events, talking points, blogs, internal features, external articles, and brochures. Our writing is complemented by bold, vibrant design that conveys key information effectively.
Clarity Global has provided communications support to the National Treasury for two decades. We have edited South Africa’s national budget documentation (the Budget Review and the Medium Term Budget Policy Statement) since 2005, along with a broad range of Treasury publications, including annual reports, strategic plans and discussion documents. We have also conducted clear writing training for hundreds of Treasury officials.
We have helped the National Treasury communicate its ideas with clarity, simplicity and integrity. We provide strategic advisory services in discussion with high-ranking Treasury officials to strengthen the impact and sharpen the focus of the department’s publications. These efforts have contributed to the high standard of National Treasury materials – South Africa consistently ranks among the top three countries in the International Budget Partnership’s Open Budget Survey, which measures the transparency of budget processes.
Clarity Global works with Absa, one of Africa’s largest financial services companies, to communicate clearly and consistently with its employees and other stakeholders. The scope and significance of our work has increased as we have added more value in an integrated way across the business.
Our support for Absa includes:
- Advising on communications strategy
- Writing and editing speeches and thought leadership pieces
- Producing internal communications, including articles, emails and speaking notes
- Editing internal policies, standards and guides
- Training employees in clear communication at all levels of the business.
In collaboration with the Absa team, we have been able to identify communications challenges in the business and develop solutions to address these issues. One such initiative was to produce a language guide that is being rolled out across the bank. With large-scale shifts in its ownership, leadership and strategy, Absa employees rely on clear communication for internal accountability and transparency. Clarity Global is a crucial partner in realising Absa’s commitment to clear communication.
